Differences between refrigerators with a top and bottom freezer

The first classic version of the production of refrigerators was the model with the location of the refrigerator and freezer next to each other: the Friger model was made in 1930 and resembled the prototype of the modern Side-by-Side refrigerator. A little later, the ancestor of modern two-chamber refrigerators appeared, where there was a chamber for freezing food at the bottom, and at the top for cooling food. This design was easier to assemble, but the rapidly developing market required changes: therefore, by the end of the 30s, the developers switched mainly to models of equipment with an upper freezer. With a much more complicated design, lightening the case due to the use of plastic and aluminum, improving the design and functionality of refrigeration equipment, it has come down to our days, leaving a variety of location of the freezer from above or below.

Are there any fundamental differences in different camera arrangements, other than aesthetic preferences?

In fact, there are design features of tai: with the lower location of the freezer compartment, it is possible to make the chamber more voluminous and roomy: as a rule, these are 3-4 separate boxes where you can sort products by type (meat, greens, vegetables, semi-finished products) and store them in large volumes.

The upper freezer compartment is traditionally smaller in volume and is optimal for a small family: on the other hand, the refrigerator compartment is larger and more convenient.

There are no other fundamental differences, so when choosing a refrigerator, you should take into account other options, such as the useful volume of the chambers, noise level, automatic defrost options, dimensions and the manufacturer.
