Liebherr factories in Bulgaria

There are two factories for the production of Liebherr equipment in Bulgaria at once: both are located in Maritsa, Radinovo.

The first factory in Bulgaria Liebherr Domestic Appliances Marica EOODwas opened by Liebherr  in 1999. The invested volume of investments for the construction of the enterprise and its equipment amounted to more than 25 million euros. The total area of ​​the plant is 252,800 m². The main activity of the enterprise was the manufacture of refrigeration and freezing equipment. They launched mass production only a year later, after debugging the capacities and putting the equipment into operation. Particular attention was paid to the equipment of the product quality testing laboratory: quality standards are the same for all plants of the company, regardless of the country of production.

Already in the first years, the volume of production of refrigeration equipment amounted to 14 000 units of equipment. By the 20s of the 21st century, the annual production volume exceeded 868 000 units.

The main specialization of  Liebherr Domestic Appliances Marica EOOD is the production of refrigerators and freezers under the countertop and combined refrigerators with a top freezer, standing alone.

The second plant in Radinovo - Liebherr Transportation Systems Marica EOOD - was built in 2009. Its total area is relatively small: only 9,200 m². The original direction of this company is the development and production of ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems for railway transport, but developments from this area are also successfully used in the production of Liebherr refrigerators.

Bulgarian-made refrigerators are manufactured to the same standards as American and German refrigerators, as production and testing standards are the same.
