What not to store in the freezer and why

The freezer compartment of the refrigerator is designed for long-term storage of perishable products. But can all foods be stored in the freezer? Some of their species change their properties and composition, and you won’t want to eat them after defrosting.

Which products cannot be stored in the freezer, or do they have their own storage requirements?

• Some types of dairy products: soft cheeses, sour cream, yogurt. When cooled, they are separated into layers, and the resulting product, although suitable for food, has a completely unappetizing appearance.
• Eggs crack when frozen. You can store them, but you should first peel them and pour them into a container.
• Green onions freeze perfectly, but when defrosted, they completely lose their appearance, gaining moisture and becoming limp, as if someone was sitting on them. You can use it only in soup or other boiled dishes, and then until it is defrosted.
• All watery vegetables and fruits: watermelon, oranges, tangerines, pineapple - after freezing, the juice crystallizes, and when defrosted, it simply melts, the taste changes greatly.
• Cooked food: fried, floury dishes (pasta), pastas - after defrosting, all this no longer looks unappetizing, although it is edible.
• Champagne, beer and other highly carbonated drinks. Sometimes they are put in the freezer for quick cooling. If you do not guess with time, then such a bottle will try to explode when opened. Better use the refrigerator to cool down and wait a bit.
• Any wet products, until they freeze to a solid state, safely smear the box and freeze to each other. If you want to get one chicken leg, and not a homogeneous chicken mass the size of half a bucket, then pack the legs in bags or cling film and lay them separately before freezing.
