Modern premium refrigerators offer a quick freeze option. The mode can be called SuperFrost or Shock Freeze, and means a quick drop in temperature in the freezer section to 32-38 degrees (depending on the manufacturer). With such shock freezing, due to the rapid crystallization of moisture, changes in substances and juices do not have time to occur, and almost all nutrients retain their value.

How does the Liebherr super freeze function work?

The mode is usually activated in the entire freezer, but if there is an option to control the temperature in individual sections, then super-freezing works in the selected section. When the mode is activated, the compressor begins to work hard to lower the temperature until the indicators of -32-38 degrees are reached. If the option is turned off automatically, then no further action is required: the temperature sensors are triggered. Otherwise, after some time, the mode must be turned off manually, as it leads to increased load on the compressor and increased power consumption.

When to activate Super Frost mode?

Superfrost, if possible, is activated in advance (1-2 hours), so that by the time the products are placed in the chamber, the temperature has already reached the required values. Otherwise, the benefit of the mode is minimal, since it takes time to lower the temperature. Provide trays in advance for placing berries in a thin layer, cut a piece of meat into thin pieces that will be better frozen than one large piece.
